BYD’s smart entry system has once again “unlocked” a new partner, with all its models now supporting Samsung smartphone NFC car keys. BYD has become the first Chinese brand to support Samsung smartphone NFC car keys, expanding the footprint of smartphone NFC car keys in the Android phone field.
BYD has overcome three major technical challenges of smartphone NFC car keys. If technology had degrees, the commonly seen card NFC car keys on the market would be at kindergarten level, while BYD’s smartphone NFC car key can be considered “doctoral” level.
Firstly, the development difficulty of smartphone NFC car keys is high. Some car manufacturers use card NFC car keys that require one-to-one development with the in-car NFC module, whereas BYD’s smartphone NFC car key requires one-to-many development, significantly increasing the complexity. BYD was the first in the world to develop and apply this technology.
Secondly, integrating with various smartphone manufacturers is incredibly challenging. Different brands, models, and the compatibility with both Android and iOS systems pose significant difficulties. BYD is the first Chinese brand to support NFC car keys across Android, HarmonyOS, and iOS systems. It already supports major brands like Huawei, Apple, Honor, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, realme, OnePlus, and Samsung, covering over 600 models.
Moreover, the actual use of smartphone NFC car keys must handle complex scenarios. BYD’s smartphone NFC car key can be used without network or battery power, recognizing in less than one second with a success rate of 99.99%, leading the industry in performance. It also achieves EAL5+ financial-level security.
BYD is committed to making technology accessible, ensuring more users can enjoy its benefits. All current BYD models come standard with smartphone NFC car keys. The BYD smart entry family also includes Bluetooth car keys, cloud car keys, and UWB car keys. In the future, BYD will continue to expand its smart entry portfolio, offering users a worry-free, convenient, and secure smart entry experience.
