On August 29, 2024, Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) announced that they have agreed on a multi-year contract with Takaaki Nakagami, who will become a MotoGP machine development rider from 2025. Nakagami will conclude his career as a regular MotoGP rider after the 2024 season and will take on the role of developing HRC machines starting in 2025. He will also serve as a bridge between the Japanese and European test teams, sharing test results to accelerate machine development. Honda and HRC are confident that Nakagami’s extensive experience will contribute to enhancing MotoGP competitiveness.
