NIO Citizen Scientists | Urban and Suburban Plant Survey “Sherlock Holmes” Recruitment

In July 2023, the “Clean Park Citizen Scientist Program | Shanghai Native Wetland Plant Survey” began. Dozens of users conducted detailed plant surveys near Lake Dalien in Qingpu District. They discovered several populations of the nationally protected plant Ceratopteris and recorded the blooming and fruiting of Agrostis.

This summer, NIO and the Shan Shui Conservation Center are recruiting “Sherlock Holmes” for plant surveys again. Care for local plants and explore their secrets with Clean Park.

Activity Information

• Duration: July to October 2024, 2-4 hours per survey
• Location: Around Lake Dalien, Qingpu District, Shanghai
• Activities: Plant distribution survey, data sorting, sharing findings
• Requirements: Nature enthusiasts, good health, full participation
