SUBARU and Panasonic Energy have announced a plan to supply cylindrical lithium-ion batteries for SUBARU’s battery EVs, which will begin production in the late 2020s. The partnership will establish a new battery factory in Oizumi, Gunma, with a planned annual production capacity of 20GWh by the end of 2030. The two companies will work together to strengthen Japan’s battery supply chain and contribute to achieving carbon neutrality.
