SUBARU has introduced local 5G equipment at its test course in Bifuka, Hokkaido, to start testing cooperative autonomous driving. The experiment leverages high-speed, reliable communication to perform tasks like vehicle merging and remote control of autonomous vehicles. The local 5G setup, utilizing NOKIA’s system, is the first of its kind for a domestic automaker. SUBARU continues to pursue research and development to contribute to a future mobility society.
