At BMW Group’s Hams Hall plant in the UK, the robodog named “SpOTTO” is playing a vital role in line with International Dog Day. Developed by Boston Dynamics, SpOTTO handles maintenance tasks within the plant. Equipped with visual, thermal, and acoustic sensors, SpOTTO autonomously monitors production equipment to prevent failures and reduce energy consumption. The data collected by SpOTTO contributes to the creation of the plant’s digital twin, and future plans include expanding its role to cover more complex tasks.
