Honda Launches New Light Commercial EV “N-VAN e:” – Officially Starting Japan’s EV Deployment from Familiar Light Commercial Vans

Honda will launch the new light commercial EV “N-VAN e:” on Thursday, October 10, 2024. This model, based on the gasoline model “N-VAN,” incorporates the usability unique to EVs. Key features include the adoption of a high-capacity battery, miniaturization of the electric axle, and minimization of component space through concentrated high-voltage components.

Key Features:

  1. Driving Range: Achieves 245 km in WLTC mode.
  2. Charging Time:
    • Normal charging (6.0 kW output) takes about 4.5 hours.
    • Rapid charging (50 kW) takes about 30 minutes.
  3. Battery Management: Equipped with a battery cooling and heating system to prevent performance degradation due to high and low temperatures.

Type Variations:

  1. e: L4:
    • A standard type with four seats, suitable for both commercial and personal use.
    • Equipped with a 7-inch LCD meter capable of displaying various information.
  2. e: FUN:
    • Based on e: L4, with styling suitable for hobbies and leisure.
    • Equipped with LED headlights and standard rapid charging.
  3. e: G:
    • Specializes in commercial use, pursuing functionality.
    • Designed for use by one driver, capable of carrying long items.
  4. e: L2:
    • Two-seat tandem layout.
    • Designed for easy boarding and loading/unloading of luggage.

Safety Features:

All types come standard with advanced driver assistance features. First light commercial van to be equipped with side curtain airbags as standard, and also adopts a post-collision braking system.

Honda CONNECT:

Various settings can be configured via a smartphone app. Timer settings, charging waiting time settings, maximum charging amount settings, etc., contribute to comfortable travel, electricity cost reduction, and extended driving range.
