Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Yokohama, President: Makoto Uchida) unveiled a trial of self-radiative cooling paint for cars on August 6, 2024. This paint helps to prevent the interior temperature from rising due to direct sunlight in summer, reducing the need for air conditioning and improving fuel and electricity efficiency. The paint, co-developed with Radi-Cool, reflects sunlight and emits heat energy, effectively lowering the car’s interior temperature. A year-long trial began at Haneda Airport in November 2023.
