Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin Meets with GAC Group Chairman Zeng Qinghong

GAC Group Chairman Zeng Qinghong, GAC Aion General Manager Gu Huinan, and the head of GAC Aion Southeast Asia visited the Thai Prime Minister’s Office and met with Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. Prime Minister Srettha congratulated GAC on the completion of its Thai smart factory and appreciated GAC for choosing Thailand as its first overseas electric vehicle production base. The Thai government expressed full support for GAC’s development, including the establishment of an R&D center.

Zeng emphasized the friendly relationship between China and Thailand and outlined GAC’s international expansion strategy. The initial production capacity of the Thai factory is 50,000 units/year, with plans to increase to 100,000-200,000 units/year. GAC aims to enhance Thailand’s new energy vehicle production capacity and upgrade its industrial ecosystem.

The completion of the GAC Aion Thailand smart factory is just the beginning. GAC will continue to improve charging facilities and energy ecosystems in Thailand, support talent development, and foster the growth of the upstream and downstream industrial chain. GAC looks forward to working with Thailand’s automotive industry to promote the green transformation of global automobiles.
