Mercedes-Benz team had a solid opening day of running at the Hungaroring, focusing predominantly on long runs. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell used Medium and Soft compounds, with George finishing P4 and P5 in FP1 and FP2 respectively, and Lewis P10 and P7. Despite the sweltering heat, valuable data was gathered to help refine the strategy for the weekend.
