Lynn Simoncini’s personal experience after a double mastectomy led to the creation of the Ford SupportBelt™, a device that alleviates pressure from a seatbelt on the chest. Made of soft, breathable foam, it helps reduce discomfort for mastectomy patients while driving. Ford will provide the SupportBelt at no cost to U.S. patients, aiming to support the 100,000 annual mastectomy patients. Lear Corp. will manufacture the initial batch, with global plans to open the patent for wider production.
