The BMW Group has reaffirmed its innovation leadership in the field of automated driving by becoming the first carmaker to obtain approval for combining Level 2 and Level 3 automation in a single car. The new BMW 7 Series marks another milestone in this area. Combining the Level 2 BMW Highway Assistant and the Level 3 BMW Personal Pilot L3, the car offers high levels of safety and an innovative driving experience. Highly automated systems allow drivers to take their hands off the wheel and focus on other activities in certain situations.
