Southeast Asia is at the core of GAC Aion’s high-tech system overseas strategy. Following the completion and operation of the Thai factory on July 17, GAC Aion accelerated its entry into the Indonesian market. On July 26, the first batch of 500 AION Y Plus vehicles was shipped from Xinsha Port to Indonesia. This export marks a new significant phase for GAC Aion in the Indonesian market.

Indonesia, rich in resources and with robust economic development, is the most populous country in Southeast Asia and the only one with a million-unit automotive market. In April this year, GAC Aion officially entered the Indonesian market and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with local leading automotive group Indomobile.

GAC Aion is currently exporting complete vehicles to meet the growing demand for pure electric vehicles among local consumers and is also advancing the construction of an Indonesian factory, expected to be completed and start production by the end of the year. Until then, GAC Aion will leverage localized production to provide more competitive products to local consumers. In addition to AION Y Plus, the second-generation AION V and other models will also enter the Indonesian market.

Since 2023, GAC Aion has accelerated its overseas strategy, entering 19 countries and regions in the first half of 2024. Next, GAC Aion will also enter Qatar and Mexico. GAC Aion will continue to advance its high-tech system overseas, optimizing its global layout to provide better products to consumers worldwide.
