Hyundai Mobility Japan Co., Ltd. announced that its new medium-sized electric bus “ELEC CITY TOWN” has been recognized as eligible for subsidies by the Japan Automobile Transport Technology Association (JATA). With this recognition, bus operators and municipalities can receive a subsidy of ¥17,692,000 per bus, significantly reducing the cost of adoption. Hyundai plans to contribute to CO2 reduction and the enhancement of environmental responses in public transportation through the introduction of this new electric bus. The “ELEC CITY TOWN” is scheduled to be launched in the Japanese market by the end of 2024, complying with Japanese bus body standards and offering a driving range of over 220 km, among other features tailored to the needs of bus operators.
