Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (Honda) and Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Yamaha) have agreed on the OEM supply of Honda’s electric scooters “EM1 e:” and “BENLY e: Ⅰ” for the Japanese market. The two companies have been exploring collaboration since 2016 and began OEM supply of 50cc scooters to Yamaha in 2018. Additionally, in 2019, they, along with Kawasaki and Suzuki, established the “Consortium for Replaceable Batteries for Electric Motorcycles” and agreed on standardization in 2021. This agreement further advances these efforts.
