Why NIO Wants to “Self-Develop” an Operating System for All Vehicles

NIO has chosen to develop its own vehicle-wide operating system, “SkyOS Tianshu,” to enhance the user experience and organizational efficiency throughout the lifecycle. Moving away from traditional supplier-dependent black boxes, NIO needs a high-performance operating system for the AI era, capable of integrating and dispatching computing power and managing all subsystems. Technical details will be revealed on July 27 at NIO IN.
