This drama depicts the birth of the first Hongqi limousine, the mass production of civilian Hongqi models in the 1990s, and the accelerated development of FAW Hongqi in the new era. Through the stories of generations of Hongqi employees and R&D personnel, it illustrates the determination to innovate, revive the national automobile brand, and strengthen China’s automobile industry.

Today, the first episode was broadcast.

Plot summary: Before the Spring Festival, Hongqi brand car designer Zhang Yueyang visited the home of her grandfather, Zhang Huafeng, the first-generation engineer of FAW Hongqi. Zhang Huafeng recounted to his granddaughter the events of 1958 when he participated in the design and manufacturing of the first high-end sedan in New China, the Hongqi CA72. Inspired by the hard work and uplifting spirit of the first generation of car workers, Zhang Yueyang agreed to visit the new factory with her grandfather on the day of her design deadline.
