Nissan announced that cumulative global production of its e-POWER vehicles exceeded 1.5 million units as of October 2024. e-POWER, which relies on a gasoline engine and lithium-ion battery to power an electric motor, was introduced in Japan in 2016 and has expanded to models like the Kicks, X-Trail, and Serena, making up 42.6% of Nissan’s sales in Japan. e-POWER launched in China in 2021 and Europe in 2022, with plans to enter North America by 2026. Cumulative production totals include 1.17 million units in Japan, 140,000 in Europe, 60,000 in China, and 150,000 in other regions.
