Panasonic Energy and Mazda have entered into a partnership to supply cylindrical lithium-ion batteries for vehicles. This collaboration has been recognized by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry as part of the “Stable Battery Supply Plan.” Panasonic will produce the batteries at its Suminoe and Kaizuka factories starting in 2027, while Mazda will introduce battery EVs using these batteries. Both companies aim to enhance the competitiveness of the battery industry and contribute to achieving carbon neutrality.
